Topic: Puerto Rico Windsurf and kite Series.

So far Maui Sails has been on top of the leader board for the last 2 days here in Puerto Rico.
Gonzalo Costa has almost a flawless score card with 9 of 10 races won in the pro division with winds steady at 20 knots + 7.0m and 100 liter boards used by almost all the pro fleet.
Among the top competitiors in the island are BRA999 with one race won and a lot of 2nd's.
On the Weekend Warriors the leader board has not change much with local rider Albeer ahead with the exception of a few races he did not complete the correct slalom course, but funny is that everyone was following him to the wrong bouys a few of the locals notice his error and capitilized on the two races he messed up.
I am having a bad race so far but what the hell this is not my job is my hobby and I had to lend  from my quiver a lot of stuff to a lot of new friends i have made from Venezuela that needed boards, mast, booms etc. but they are  from the Maui Crew what the hell......
For anyone interested in more details let me know I can write up more about the specifics of the event here.
We still have tomorrow to go and if conditions live to expectations it could be a very windy day with wind going up a bit to 25-30 knots and a bit more chop.

Re: Puerto Rico Windsurf and kite Series.

Just home from the event and wow is all I can say.  For a first time event that was put together in a really short amount of time it really came out great.

The event site was world class for sailing and the best part was the spirit of the locals who welcomed us all to their paradise.

Gonzalo was really ripping it up at this event with a commanding lead in most of the races.  He had some equipment problems that made him miss one race, and Wilhelm Shurmann did get him in the final pro race when the wind backed down just a notch.

If you have never been to Puerto Rico, put it on top of your list of places to visit.  I will definitely be headed back there again to see some of the other parts of the island that the locals told me about, but the couple of sessions I did get in before having to run the race were awesome at Ocean Park.

Rick, I know you were streched out to your max during the event and I thank you for always having a great and happy face during the entire event.
You were part of history in the making here during the week end and i am sure everyone will thank you for the help.

See you soon
Jose
