Omaezaki, Japan wave event
17th December 2012
To go to Japan from Guadeloupe was kind of mission but once I arrived there I understood why Japan is one of the biggest market of windsurfing, they are so much into windsurfing and they were admirer about what the pro's are doing, so they took care of us like their own family.

So I arrived 2 days before the contest and Sato the quatro importer made me site seeing of the Omaezaki area - plaing golf, eat good Japanese food while there conditions were not there yet. It was just a weekend contest so we all met on Saturday morning under the rain and freezing cold, in the afternoon the waves picked up but still no wind so we had a little surf session.

On saturday night we hade little party to present the riders, sign autographs and take pictures with pretty much all the Japanese windsurfing community in the party, I also took advantage of that to present the Don't Let Go movie witch is now available online: dontletgo-movie.com they were pretty exited about it...

Sunday morning conditions were pretty good but not enough to run heats so we hade 2 expresion session to decide who was sailing the best. Graham, Victor and a Japanese guy were kind of used to the spot so they were sailing very good as I finish at the 4th place right behind them. In the end it was a short but really good trip and I'll keep a good memory of it.
Big thanks to Norio Asano MauiSails Japan importer who helped me out with the equipment.
