Phil McGain continues his winning season by taking another victory on the weekend on Maui at the Da Kine sponsored Maui Race series #3. Trade winds blasted the course with gusts over 30 knots, but it was a typical Maui day and most of the competitors enjoyed the challenging conditions.

In the 40-49 age group Phil McGain dominated on his TR2 6.3m, by taking 3 of the 4 races. In second was another MauiSails sailor Mike Yasak, and long time local, Kevin Ozee, in third place.

In the afternoon racing in the Pro division, McGain finished second to Micah Buzianis, with Peter Bijl from Holland in third. Buzianis won the first 3 heats of the division but it was McGain who took the final victory in heat 4, and took the lead up to the hamburgers waiting on the BBQ to get first bites after the hard fought races.

McGain says - "It’s always good to get this sort of racing on Maui. We couldn’t ask for better slalom conditions, Man! it was a fun day for everyone. This is why we live here!".
